The Internet Administration forms can now be used to upload prompt files that have been recorded on your PC. Previously, it has been necessary to dial into the PhonePresence system and record over a phone line. Recording on your PC makes it easier to get longer recordings correct and eliminates clicks or noises at the beginning or end of the recordings which may occur as keys are pressed.
You can record files on your PC using Windows Sound Recorder or Media Player and trim them, or cut and paste sections, to give the desired effect before uploading them to PhonePresence. Files should be in Windows .wav format at 8kHz or 11kHz sampling before uploading them.
To upload a file, logon to PhonePresence with the account that has Web Administration rights. Click on the Administration button and select the Prompts page from the buttons on the left. You will see a list of prompts on the system, each with it's own 4 digit reference number (it is possible that your configuration has been set up without this list, in which case you will need to add a record for the prompt you are going to upload, assuming you have the reference number).
Double click on the prompt to upload which brings up a new window to edit the details. You can click on the upload symbol to open the dialog to select your file.
You should allow some time for the upload, particularly if you have a slow internet connection. It is a good idea to record the text of each prompt here, since it makes it easier to follow through the call flow when you come to make changes later on.
Note: If your PhonePresence setup was configured before this feature was added, you may need to have your existing recordings converted to .wav files before you can hear them through the web administration forms.
