IVR
Interactive Voice Response is a telephony technology whereby the caller acquires information from, or enters data into, a database via a touch-tone telephone. Human interaction is not required with IVR technology as the caller’s access to the database is predetermined by caller menus and ACD systems.
As an example, banks use IVR systems to provide customers with immediate account information without necessarily speaking to an agent. IVR technology can also gather information, such as in phone surveys or online ordering, where the caller is prompted to answer questions by pressing numbers on the keypad.
X-on offers hosted IVR solutions which negate the need for costly in-house solutions and can include the full range of PBX and call routing, handling, distribution and recording features.
