Micro Billing

Various options are currently available for the sale of low value items on a per transaction basis. These include:

Payment via mobile phone
The customer wishing to make a purchase sends a SMS message to a mobile short code number which contains a product code obtained via advertising or from the internet. The text message can also include information such as address information. ‘Reverse billed' text messages will then be sent back to their mobile phone to cover the value of the product.

Pay via landline
The customer dials a premium rate phone number and enters the product code on their keypad. Where needed, they can also be asked to enter additional information such as postcode. The value of the product will determine the length of the call.

Pay via Credit or Debit Card
The customer dials an advertised national rate number and enters their product code and any additional information required. This is followed by their credit card details and some security information to validate the card and the payment is then authorized by secure link to the bank while they are on the phone line.
